OOTD – Uni Day 1

With the new pressure of dressing myself everyday for Uni, I thought I’d share today’s outfit:

Top – Zara

Hoodie – Topshop

Jacket – Vintage

Coated Black Jeans – Noisy May

Shoes – Adidas Superstars

Though this outfits pretty simple, I feel it’s comfortable and practical and the coated jeans add a lil bit of style.

Thank you for reading and I’ll see you again soon!

Favourite Autumn Nail Polishes

Autumn is well and truly upon us, so I thought I’d share some of my favourite autumn nail polishes with you in the hope that you find some you like!

  1. ‘Man, I Teal Like a Woman’ Bow by Nails Inc.   This is a beautiful deep teal shade, perfectly matched to my Autumn wardrobe. Being a Nails Inc polish, the quality is second to none; it is opaque after only one coat and can last through anything! One special feature of this polish is that it dries to a gorgeous matte finish. I find this gives an extremely sophisticated look and is just something a little bit different from the norm. If you’re looking for a good matte top coat, I would highly recommend the Barry M one. Its very affordable and the perfect companion to this polish.
  2. ‘390 Iconic’ Revlon.   This is my go-to if I want to look just that little bit more sophisticated. It’s a dark grey/black colour and leaves a lovely glossy finish. I don’t love the brush that’s given with this, I find it to be unnecessarily skinny, leaving the potential for a messy application or streaky finish. But honestly, it’s a minor issue, the colour is lovely and the polish lasts extremely well.
  3. ‘Porchester Square’ Nails Inc.   As the sticker on the lid suggests, this is a definite ‘Hero Shade’. If ever I’m rocking a nude nail, it will always be Porchester Square. It’s cool undertone is not something I find very often in nude nail polishes and I find it to be so flattering against my pale skin. As with the teal shade earlier, its ‘Nails Inc’ branding is a guarantee of quality and lovely application. I can’t recommend this colour highly enough and I always have a back up bottle on standby.
  4. ‘Encore!’ Ciaté.    What can I say, everyone should have a pumpkin orange for Autumn in their collection! It’s basically an essential around Halloween time and it’s such a fun colour. I have to say I rarely go for colours this bright outside of Summer, but this shade is so lovely and it works beautifully in the Autumn months.
  5. ‘Amorous’ MeMeMe.   This is a true Autumn/Winter colour. I always find myself reaching for this gorgeous plummy burgundy shade and I am never disappointed. It’s quick drying formula partnered with its wide brush makes life so much easier and I rarely have to worry about smudging. Not to mention this brand is great value for money, this is by far the cheapest nail polish I have mentioned here but it’s one of my favourites.

I hope you enjoyed reading my favourite Autumn Nail Polishes! See you soon

Update on Life

With Fresher’s week in full swing, I’ve had a bit more time to settle down and get myself into Uni life. I thought that this would make it a great time to start up blogging again but this time on more of a schedule – hopefully! My aim will be to post on Mondays and Fridays and I really hope I can stick to it. Thank you to everyone who’s standing by and waiting for me to sort my life out!

See you again soon,

Urban Outfitters Wishlist

Despite my student life looming, I can’t help but lust after new (and beyond my budget) items. Urban Outfitters have really been impressing me lately, so I thought I’d share a few of their items that I need want.

Retro Pattern Turtleneck Jumper

Turtleneck

I’m 99% sure I don’t suit turtlenecks, I’m also 99% sure that I don’t even care. This jumper is gorgeous. It could last all through fall and winter… and spring and summer knowing Scottish weather! It just looks like such a versatile piece and I would love something like this.

Nike Roshe Run Trainers

Roshe

Despite literally just getting my Adidas Superstars, I am already craving a different style of trainer. The Nike Roshe Runs are another ‘fashion’ trainer that’s been making the rounds lately and I think these grey ones are so nice. I’m really loving the look of casual shoes paired with skirts or jeans and I think these Roshes are perfect for that look. I must confess to being inspired again by ClothesEncounters for these ones, she styles trainers so beautifully and she’s basically goals.

Patterned Pelmet Skirt

Pelmet Skirt

As you may or may not know, I’ve been trying to branch out style-wise a bit more lately, and though it may not seem all that adventurous, wearing skirts is a big jump for me. However, when I saw this skirt I had a minor heart palpitation, its SO gorgeous. Literally, I would wear this always, it’s a stunning pattern but it’s not too bold or in your face. I can envisage me wearing this with my Superstars and I look so fine. I need this right now!

Blue Alex Romper

Playsuit goals innit

Playsuits are another item that are a bit out of my comfort zone. Because of my very athletic body shape, anything that fits my shoulders will be huge on the waist and hips, that’s why playsuits are such a conundrum. There’s just a lot of places they need to fit and this is a near impossible feat on my body. Nevertheless, that doesn’t take away from how lovely this playsuit is. It’s definitely more of a dressier piece, but the high neck makes it really classy and I think it would be lovely.

Extreme High Rise Ankle Grazer Jeans in Black

Jean goals

Skinny jeans are another bane-of-my-life clothing item. As well as broad shoulders, I also have some seriously muscular legs, narrow hips and a surprisingly smallish waist. It’s a recipe for disaster when it comes to jeans, especially when high-rise is my go to. So far, the only skinny jeans that work for me are the Topshop Joni Jeans, infamous for stretching, fading and ripping, so not ideal. Basically my quest in life is to find some damn good skinnies and these look like a pretty good option. I live in hope at least!

Suede Pocket Plum Backpack

sexual backpack

As y’all know, I’m heading on into University soon, and I can think of a ridiculous number of uses and styling options for this backpack. It’s literally so stunning. It’s very minimal and I think it’s such a classic piece. I would get my money’s worth for sure as it would probably never leave my body once I got it.

Thank you for reading the listings of a poor Uni student to-be! I hope you enjoyed and I’ll see you again soon!

What’s on my Nails #3

I thought I’d just do a quick ‘what’s on my nails’ post to keep y’all interested in my blog!

On my finger nails I have this Avon Nailwear Pro+ polish in ‘Real Red’

I’ve never really heard much about Avon polishes, but this one’s really lovely and hasn’t chipped in the 4/5 days I’ve had it on.

On my toes I have the Seventeen Supreme Shine polish in ‘Miami’

It’s a very bright pink, which isn’t something I’d usually go for, but if I’m being honest I just wanted something fast drying, which this definitely is! The colour is also really opaque and applies really smoothly.

Thank you for reading and I hope you all bear with my blog throughout my move! I’ll see you again soon,

Just a lil bit hectic right now

Hey, I just wanted to apologise for a lack of posts from me in the next few (and last few) days. I’m in the process of packing up all my stuff and moving from Aberdeen to Edinburgh for University. I hope you can all understand and I’ll see you again soon hopefully!

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner Review

I’ve heard a lot of great things about the Rimmel Lip Liners lately, so I thought I’d try one out. I purchased this a few days back as you can see in my drugstore haul here. I decided to go for ‘063 Eastend Snob‘. This is a lovely mauve-y nude colour:

I think it’s a great natural colour for my lips as they are quite dark and pink toned and most typical ‘nudes’ look really odd on me.

This lip liner applies really nicely, it has a roll up crayon applicator which saves having to sharpen the end. The first time I used this, I turned it up too far and the tip actually snapped off! So that’s definitely something to be careful of. The product itself made up for this early mishap as the lip liner is gorgeous. It has a matte finish which lasts for so long, even when you eat or drink with it on.

I don’t find the liner to be very drying either, which is great as I often find this a problem with matte lip products.

Overall I absolutely adore this product, it was great value at only £3.99 and it’s a colour which suits a variet of skin tones and can be worn year round. Thank you for reading and I’ll see you again soon!
